Uri's Blog Notes from 44.483N, -92.261W, planet Earth

From the file of ridiculous news writing.

twosuns"Astronomers have found 32 new planets outside our solar system, adding evidence to the theory that the universe has many places where life could develop."

Gosh, you mean we might not be alone in the universe? Wow.

Here is a story on the discovery in Science Daily, where they make no mention of that particular theory, thank you.

Have you thought of what it might be like to have more than one sun? One of the 32 new exoplanets recently discovered using the HARPS spectrograph is surrounding the star Gliese 667 C, which belongs to a triple system. The 6 Earth-mass exoplanet circulates around its low-mass host star at a distance equal to only 1/20th of the Earth-Sun distance. The host star is a companion to two other low-mass stars, which are seen here in the distance in this depiction.  (if you look closely, you can spot skyscrapers and other evidence of alien being activity.)
